ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services temporarily closed the 1022 North Bay Eastern Shellfish Harvest Area in Bay County for oyster, clam, and mussel harvest + scallops, shrimp and crabs remain allowed. Officials will collect water samples until conditions meet required standards. WJHG
- ➤ The EPA has awarded nearly $750,000 to the St. Andrew and St. Joseph Bays Estuary Program to launch Bay Guardians: Citizen Science for Clean Waters. The initiative will run for three years and expand local water monitoring while recruiting volunteers. WJHG
