  • Chilly weather led to room cancellations at Osprey the Driftwood Lodge & flight delays at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport on Monday, Jan. 26; officials say delays may continue while temperatures remain low.  WJHG
  • Bay County is set to open a warming shelter at A.D. Harris Learning Village as cold weather approaches + it will provide refuge for those without homes or heating.  WJHG

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Eastern Shipbuilding Group won a contract to build three fully electric ferries for America’s largest ferry system, a $100 million project that will start in August (bringing jobs to the Panhandle), CEO Joey D’Isernia said.  WJHG

  • Kaleidoscope Theatre in Lynn Haven is set to host an evening of clean comedy (featuring comedians Ethan Dayo, Jason Heddon, and headliner Big Rich Brock) on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; proceeds benefit the theatre's programs.  Panama City News Herald

  • Records from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission show the state's largest record is a 1,046-pound blue marlin caught off Panama City in 2001; a 300-pound blue marlin caught off Fort Pierce on Jan. 8 was a rare seasonal catch but did not beat the record.  Panama City News Herald
