- ➤ Daylight saving time will begin at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8, so residents will spring forward to save energy and enjoy longer evenings. Florida approved the Sunshine Protection Act, but federal law must change for the state to remain on daylight saving time permanently. Panama City News Herald
