  • Death by Chocolate returns for its 25th year in Panama City Beach, offering treats from over 20 local vendors including restaurants, bakeries, and culinary schools. Attendees can sample a variety of sweets at this annual event.  WJHG

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Florida jumped overnight amid global supply disruptions from military actions in Iran — with Panama City rates rising by 10.7 cents to $2.795 a gallon — while other areas posted larger increases, according to AAA.  Panama City News Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fox News anchor Shannon Bream headlined an event on 30-A in Santa Rosa Beach hosted by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at FSU Panama City, where she shared her journey and encouraged perseverance while featuring programming from cybersecurity courses to wine tastings that connected alumni and community members.  WJHG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, Gov. Ron DeSantis presented more than $13 million in jobs growth grants at Bay County Government Center in Panama City. He awarded $5 million to Panama City Bay County Airport & Industrial District, $6 million to the Gulf County Board and $2.25 million to Port St. Joe officials.  Panama City News Herald

  • Michael Summers was named this week’s Student Athlete of the Week for his performance on the mats at Freeport. The award honors his hard work and talent among local athletes.  WJHG
  • Arnold boys soccer coach Johnathan Hammond stepped down Tuesday after 10 seasons that brought state and national titles. He will focus on coaching youth soccer with Rip City Surf and spend more time with family (his achievements put Panhandle soccer on the map).  Panama City News Herald
