- ➤ Panama City Beach resident Phyllis Revis (102 years old) celebrated her birthday with a surprise party at her long term care facility as friends and loved ones gathered to share laughter, hugs and stories that honored her decades of community connection. WJHG
- ➤ Dozens of volunteers are offering free shuttle rides to college students during spring break to reduce drunk driving & pedestrian incidents. The program, which has operated for 30 years, runs with about 60 vans each night from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in Panama City Beach. WJHG
- ➤ Beach Care Services opened a larger building on Richard Jackson Boulevard near the Shoppes at Edgewater to serve residents needing help with rent and utilities year-round. The non-profit partnered with Pineapple Willy’s & United Way to fund the building. WJHG

- ➤ On Wednesday, gas prices in Panama City jumped to $3.294 a gallon as global oil costs climbed, while the IEA + 32 members announced a historic release of 400 million barrels from emergency reserves. Analysts doubt the move will immediately ease pump prices. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Gulf Coast State College’s Training Center received American Heart Association recognition as a 2025 All-Star Training Center in Panama City. The program credits its experienced instructors (including local experts) for meeting CPR certification standards for both healthcare workers and the public. WJHG
- ➤ On Wednesday, six years after the COVID-19 declaration, Bay District Schools reported improved third-grade literacy rates after an initial drop from shutdowns, as local efforts continue to strengthen early learning. WJHG

- ➤ Scientists are tracking an unusually high amount of sargassum in the Atlantic as spring break continues; if onshore winds shift, local beaches near Panama City & along the coast may soon see clumps. Panama City News Herald
- ➤ Wildlife officials from the Florida Panhandle Marine Institute are investigating 18 dolphin deaths along the coast, mainly in Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe, with one case in Walton County. Samples are being collected and lab tests are pending to determine the cause. WJHG
