ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ North Bay Haven senior Lani Flores returned home today after seven months of surgeries, hospital stays, and rehab following a serious car accident (Aug. 19, 2025) as neighbors gathered to support her recovery. WJHG
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Two Florida Buc-ee's locations in St. Augustine and Daytona Beach did not receive an F rating from the Better Business Bureau for unanswered customer complaints affecting other states. Four more outlets are planned — Fort Pierce is slated for 2027 and Ocala is expected to open later. Panama City News Herald
- ➤ Juan Taco will open a new location soon. The restaurant plans to serve its popular menu and will announce its address and hours in the coming days. WJHG
- ➤ Margaritaville Beach Cottage Resort opened a new clubhouse featuring an arcade & fitness center overlooking the pool deck, event space, and condo suites to offer guests a full resort experience; locals will later access amenities with day passes once the busy season slows down. WJHG
- ➤ 7 Brew Coffee is set to open a new drive-thru on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd later this spring in Panama City. The building was completed on March 6 and will create 50 jobs while offering over 20,000 drink options. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Third graders from Patronis Elementary School explored marine life and seagrass beds during a hands-on field trip to St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach on March 10. Jon Schmidt from Emerald and Forgotten Coast Adventures led a talk on manatees. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ The Climate Prediction Center issued an El Niño watch on March 12 as scientists predict a rapid shift from La Niña (altering storm patterns) that may quiet the 2026 hurricane season; forecasts show a 1 in 3 chance for a strong El Niño this summer. Panama City News Herald
- ➤ Local homeowners must remove bats from their homes before April 16 using one-way exclusion devices to avoid breaking state law, as bats become protected during their maternity season until Aug. 14 (they help control insects). Panama City News Herald

- ➤ New analysis from Zumper showed that rental prices in Panama City Beach increased by 13% from February's median of $1,950, with typical listings now at $2,200. The data covers studios through four-bedroom apartments + excludes subsidized units. Panama City News Herald
