- ➤ Panama City Beach announced that special event zones will be in effect from March 20th at noon until March 24th at 5 a.m. where violations will face doubled traffic fines and possible vehicle impoundment—police said the measures are intended to curb reckless behavior during Spring Break. - ➤ Bay County celebrates recognition as its water system was named best in Florida and third best in the U.S. by the Florida Rural Water Association — a nod to the utilities department's hard work. My Panhandle
- ➤ Bay County commissioners awarded A.C. Schultes a $16 million contract on Tuesday to install two underground wells at the North Bay Wastewater Treatment Facility — each well will be drilled about 2,000 feet deep to hold up to 1.5 million gallons of water — a project set to finish within 600 days to help manage treated water as the county grows.
