- ➤ Casey's, a national convenience store chain and pizza leader, announced plans to open new locations in Bay and Walton counties, including Panama City and Defuniak Springs. The Defuniak Springs and Freeport stores will convert March 21-22 while the Callaway and Panama City stores will convert early to mid-April (each new location will donate $1,000 to local nonprofits). - ➤ Local charter fishing captains say rising diesel prices from the Iran conflict may force slower boat speeds and fare adjustments for the busy season in Panama City. They report a full tank now costs about $5,000 compared to an average of $3.68 locally. WJHG
- ➤ Gas prices in Florida remained below $4 per gallon on March 19, with the state average at $3.951 and Panama City's reading at $3.686. Several counties are now exceeding $4 and drivers are encouraged to use gas-price apps to compare rates locally. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Crews deployed artificial reef structures on Wednesday in the Gulf off Panama City Beach, creating new habitats for marine life and expanding local fishing and diving opportunities. WJHG

- ➤ Despite a partial government shutdown affecting pay, TSA workers (missing a second paycheck) at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport are maintaining normal operations during busy spring break. Community donations for workers are accepted at the airport and at Will Cramer Chevrolet on 23rd Street. WJHG
