- ➤ Reel Ladies hosted a Spanish Mackerel Fishing Tournament on March 31 that raised funds for Anchorage Children's surf fishing event—proceeds will support future charity programs. WJHG
- ➤ Tomorrow, the Gulf Coast School for Autism will host its Light It Up Blue event at Neon’s Beach Shack on Thomas Drive—children will perform music to promote autism awareness and invite locals to take on the 1/36 challenge by walking or running 36 miles to honor those with autism. WJHG
- ➤ Panama City police will host a bicycle rodeo at Oakland Terrace Park Saturday, April 5 — the free event will include an obstacle course, games, helmet fittings, bicycle inspections and maintenance tips to teach kids proper road safety rules. My Panhandle
- ➤ Panama City will host a Month of the Military Child Celebration and Proclamation Reading today at 4 p.m. in the Rotunda of City Hall to honor children of active duty and retired service members, and the free event will include refreshments, activities, giveaways and resource tables. - ➤ Panama City Beach Police are investigating the Saturday night shooting at Pier Park near the Sky Wheel that injured three people who have now been released from the hospital — officials say the suspects are from out-of-state and are working with state and local authorities to solve the case. - ➤ The Bay County Regional Library and Bay County Audubon invite local residents to submit bird photographs, art, and artifacts for a free exhibition running today through May 31—submissions must be in by March 31 with two drop-off times available. - ➤ Mandy Yourick has become the new Museum Manager at St. Andrews Museum as part of the Historic St. Andrews Waterfront Partnership and will lead new exhibits and programs that focus on local history. - ➤ FSU Health announced plans to build a new hospital in Panama City Beach on 16.5 acres at 1002 N. Arnold Road—with $414 million in bond financing and land donated by The St. Joe Company—and the facility will have up to 180 beds and offer essential services, set to open in 2028 once construction begins.
