- ➤ Calvary Panama City will hold its annual Color Run in Downtown Panama City on April 19 at 8:00 a.m.—all funds will support the Panama City Rescue Mission—and a kids’ egg stroll will follow, offering fun activities for all ages. My Panhandle
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Panama City Beach police arrested three suspects in connection to a weekend shooting at Pier Park — rival gangs from Dothan are linked to the incident which left three people injured and resulted in charges of attempted homicide for two suspects and firearm, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia offenses for the third. - ➤ Panama City Beach police and Bay County Sheriff officials held a press conference to update the community on two shootings—one occurred Thursday night near Hammerhead Fred’s off Thomas Drive and another happened last Saturday night at Pier Park. WJHG
- ➤ On Thursday night, police arrested 18-year-old Issiah Tyshawn McKenzie from Alabama after a crowded event at Hammerhead Fred’s when he reportedly fired his car gun—he faces charges of firing a gun in public, having a gun during a felony, hiding his gun, and tampering with evidence with no injuries reported. - ➤ Bay County Sheriff’s Office has set a Special Event Zone in Panama City Beach that covers areas from Publix Sports Park to the intersection of U.S. 98 and Navy Boulevard and along Front Beach Road to the city limits — the zone also covers part of Thomas Drive east of Rick Seltzer Park and will be in effect until Monday, April 7 at 5 a.m. to let officers enforce occupancy limits, impound vehicles for traffic moves, and double fines.
