  • Today, Panama City's 'World's Greatest Baby Shower' at First United Methodist Church (4-6 p.m.) gives new and expecting parents a chance to learn from over 40 vendors about pediatric care, breastfeeding, and baby safety.   • A new Fatboys in Panama City is launching its 12 Patty Challenge that gives winners bragging rights — a free t-shirt and a photo on the wall. The restaurant invites locals to test their appetite and enjoy a unique meal contest.  WJHG

CRIME NEWS

  • Following two recent shootings and a rash of Spring Break violence, the Panama City Beach Chief of Police is asking local lodging partners for increased cooperation to share information — a move he said will help boost safety in the area.  WJHG

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gulf Coast State College was named a Military Friendly School and a Military Spouse Friendly School for the 2025-2026 cycle, and it ranked top 10 among small military public schools (showing its support for active-duty members, veterans, and their spouses).  WJHG
  • Bay District Schools announced that New Horizons Learning Center will consolidate with Rosenwald High School to better serve students by sharing counseling services, academic interventions, and behavioral supports—students will attend classes at Rosenwald starting in August.  WJHG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bay County Tourist Development Council is funding a new camera system at Pier Park — law enforcement will use it to better monitor public activity and improve safety.  WJHG
  • Bay County Supervisors of Elections tested voting equipment today in a logic and accuracy test and sealed the machines for delivery ahead of the April 22 municipal elections — early voting will run from April 14 through April 18 at Panama City City Hall and Lynn Haven Senior Center.  My Panhandle

  • CPAR celebrated its 100th anniversary on April 4 at the Edgewater Convention Center with a 1920s-themed event — featuring a speakeasy with live music, antique decor, and photo opportunities.
