ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Lyrids meteor shower runs from April 14 to April 30 and peaks today with 10-20 meteors per hour and occasional bright fireballs. Florida stargazers should seek dark spots away from city lights for the best viewing. Panama City News Herald
- ➤ Meteorologists say ENSO patterns – including El Niño and La Niña – influence Florida’s 2026 hurricane season from June 1 to Nov. 30. The Climate Prediction Center noted ENSO-neutral conditions as of April 9 with a 61% chance that El Niño will develop and reduce tropical storm activity. Panama City News Herald
