- ➤ Three high school seniors from Concord-Carlisle High School died in an SUV crash on Highway 98 near Panama City on Monday during their spring break trip—one student remains in critical condition as Florida authorities continue their investigation. WJHG

- ➤ A new 60,000-square-foot Amazon delivery station opened April 28 at 7801 Commerce Blvd — in a former FedEx ground facility owned by the Port Authority. The station is expected to create over 100 full- and part-time jobs and more than 100 driver opportunities while improving delivery speeds for customers in Northwest Florida. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Tiffany April Leigh Braddock, 37, faces a competency hearing on May 16 in Panama City as she is accused of stabbing her 73-year-old mother — who allegedly abused her — on July 24 last year and will remain in Bay County Jail if deemed incompetent. My Panhandle

- ➤ Florida State University has picked Drew Allen to lead InSPIRE—its multimillion-dollar institute focused on aerospace research and building a strong STEM workforce. Allen, who brings over 20 years of military aviation experience including flying every modern USAF fighter jet, will start on June 1 to boost industry partnerships and applied research in defense and manufacturing. - ➤ The Florida Forest Service has contained most wildfires in Bay County, with three fires at 100% containment and one small fire 75% contained (covering only a quarter acre). Rain is forecast for today with a 20% chance of showers in the afternoon, though thunderstorms may increase fire weather risks as Hurricane season starts on June 1. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Bay County high school softball district tournaments are underway as six teams vie for a playoff berth.
