  • The Rotaract Club of Bay County held a PB&J drive on Apr. 27 in Panama City (led by president Jennifer Giraldo from FSU Panama City) to fight hunger locally.  Panama City News Herald
  • The TDC will celebrate Tourism Appreciation Month with an event on May 6 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Publix Sports Complex—tourism supports 38,000 local jobs and adds $3.1B in spending.  WJHG
  • Manuel and Thompson Attorneys at Law celebrated National Law Day with their 21st annual community barbecue in Panama City. Over 500 guests including local judges and law enforcement attended — showing strong community ties and respect for public rights.  WJHG
  • Today, the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center hosted the Bonded by Blue event (Foster Care Awareness Month) to honor staff dedicated to finding safe homes for children. The celebration featured games, food, and fun as organizers emphasized support for vulnerable youth.  WJHG
  • Letter carriers across Florida will pick up non-perishable food on Saturday, May 9 & deliver donations to local food pantries for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Residents are encouraged to leave a bag by their mailbox to help those in need.  Panama City News Herald

  • The Atlantic hurricane season in Florida runs from June 1 to Nov. 30 with its peak on Sept. 10; tropical storms have been known to form as early as April and May. Residents may check live radar to keep informed about evolving conditions.  Panama City News Herald
