- ➤ Two students from Mosley High School have been named National Merit Scholars today—Adelaide Genelin will pursue a law degree while Kaden Padgett will study mechanical engineering as they earned a $2,500 scholarship among 15,000 finalists chosen from over 1.3 million entrants. - ➤ Panama City officials announced that as part of the ongoing CDGB-DR Millville project, a stormwater pipe will be installed today at the intersection of N Church Ave and 1st Street; this work will make the Bob George Boat Ramp inaccessible from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (residents are advised to use the Snug Harbor Public Boat Launch instead). - ➤ Navy Support Activity Panama City expanded its installation by purchasing 8.44 acres next door during Thursday's ceremony — Bay County originally bought the land in May 2010 and local officials attended the event to support the base's future growth and national security. WJHG
- ➤ Bay County officials announced today that they will stop adding fluoride to the public water supply—completing the change in about 30 days to comply with a new state law and saving roughly $100k each year.
