GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Panama City Beach Mayor Stuart Tettemer said an inspection in March found that Gulf World Marine Park violated several building codes. He added that the park's owner — and those involved in bankruptcy — have been notified and must close unsafe areas until repairs are made. WJHG
- ➤ At a Thursday night council meeting in Panama City Beach, local surfers supported the new Shell Point Surf Club while Summer Wood residents expressed concerns over noise and traffic. Council members approved the project’s conditional use and required a noise assessment (no loud sound systems) and plans to widen roads to ease traffic. WJHG
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials from FDOH Bay warned that blue green algae in Lake Martin near Millville is potentially toxic and urged residents to avoid drinking or contacting the water. The agency advised that pets and livestock should not drink the water — shellfish should be avoided as tests continue — to reduce risk of exposure. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Athletes from around the world have gathered in Panama City Beach for the IronMan 70.3, and drivers should expect delays today on Middle Beach Road from Edgewater to Clara Avenue and on Front Beach Road from Grand Panama to Clara Avenue starting at 8 a.m. Bikers will use Highway 79 to reach Highway 20 and some roads such as Pier Park Drive, Phillip Griffiths Senior Parkway and Back and Front Beach Roads will see delays from 6 a.m. until the afternoon.
