  • Panama City Beach launched its summer sports season yesterday with the Grand Slam All-American Games and Showcase, and tournaments at Publix Sports Park and Frank Brown Park over nearly every weekend drew about 1,300 teams and 59,000 visitors while officials expect a $64 million economic impact by summer's end.  WJHG

  • A sewage spill caused by a subcontractor error was contained on Drake Avenue between 16th and 17th Street in St. Andrews, and officials are testing Lake Huntington—residents are advised not to swim or fish there.  WJHG
  • Today, the National Hurricane Center shows no tropical disturbances, and AccuWeather warns that warmer Gulf and southwest Atlantic waters near Florida may support tropical development—readiness is advised as hurricane season begins on June 1.  Panama City News Herald
