  • John Edward Powers was sentenced to 15 years for DUI manslaughter and two consecutive 5-year terms for serious bodily injury—he drove with a .20 blood-alcohol level in the wrong direction on State 79 near Panama City Beach on Aug. 7th, 2021, causing one death and three injuries.  Bay County Coastal

  • News Herald readers voted for the winter/spring athletes of the year, awarding Lincoln Guynn of Arnold High 8,300 votes and Emily Rollins of Bay High 4,032 votes after thousands participated.
