ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Triumph Gulf Coast approved five grant agreements and advanced two projects that will use $70 million to support 1,300 high-wage jobs in Bay, Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, and Wakulla Counties—projects include an MRO facility at Northwest Florida International Airport and a plan to revamp a former incinerator for manufacturing in Bay County. The board met in Pensacola this week and set the stage for regional growth in the aviation and manufacturing sectors. WJHG

- ➤ Tropical Storm Erick is expected to become a hurricane today in the eastern Pacific and may bring heavy rains, strong winds, and coastal flooding to western Mexico while hurricane watches remain in effect; the National Hurricane Center is also tracking four tropical waves in the Atlantic that are not expected to affect local weather.
