- ➤ Bay County will soon receive up to $3.75 million from Triumph Gulf Coast Grant Money for Project Clear—planned improvements to the old incinerator property will allow a new glass and glazing manufacturer to create 150 high-paying jobs, though officials have not set a timeline yet. WJHG
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Triumph Gulf Coast approved five grant agreements and advanced two projects that will use $70 million to support 1,300 high-wage jobs in Bay, Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, and Wakulla Counties—projects include an MRO facility at Northwest Florida International Airport and a plan to revamp a former incinerator for manufacturing in Bay County. The board met in Pensacola this week and set the stage for regional growth in the aviation and manufacturing sectors. WJHG

- ➤ Tropical Storm Erick is expected to become a hurricane today in the eastern Pacific and may bring heavy rains, strong winds, and coastal flooding to western Mexico while hurricane watches remain in effect; the National Hurricane Center is also tracking four tropical waves in the Atlantic that are not expected to affect local weather. In Panama City, Florida, fewer showers and storms are forecast with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s (mostly dry conditions for today). Panama City News Herald
