- ➤ Beach officials warned Panama City Beach swimmers that rip currents can be deadly even on calm days and already caused two drownings this year, urging everyone to follow beach flags—yellow means medium hazard and double red means it is illegal with fines up to $500—and swim parallel to shore to escape dangerous currents. - ➤ All dolphins were removed from Gulf World Marine Park after five deaths and public outcry over poor tank conditions, and the park remains closed until further notice. Four dolphins went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium while seven were relocated to other facilities owned by The Dolphin Company—officials said the animals are now eating well and acclimating.
