On June 25, FPL and Bay County Council on Aging volunteers delivered hurricane preparedness meal kits to seniors in Panama City—each kit provided three days of food, water, and snacks for those unable to leave home after a storm.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office solved a 45-year-old missing person case when DNA tests on a tooth from remains found in 1980 identified the woman as Carol Sue Skidmore—missing since 1977—and officials have now sent the case to the State Attorney’s Office for review.

Bay County is set to celebrate Independence Day with events planned in Panama City Beach, downtown Panama City, Lynn Haven, Mexico Beach and Callaway.
