  • Washington County deputies arrested 37-year-old Blake Elliot Hornsby—after a 911 call on July 23 revealed an unresponsive woman with severe injuries—to charge him with the murder of his 64-year-old mother, Mary Jane Ward from Quitman, Georgia.  My Panhandle
  • Panama City Police are searching for Daniel Hunt—a 34-year-old white male who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 325 pounds, has long brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen on July 23 around 5 a.m. near West 15th Street and Frankford Avenue wearing an orange shirt, black shorts with a stripe on the side, and black shoes—and ask anyone with information to call 850-872-3100 or 850-785-TIPS.  WJHG
  • A Bay County man, Sterling Alan Johnson, was charged with manslaughter after deputies linked drugs found in his home during an April 15 search to the overdose death of a 29-year-old woman discovered dead on Jammie Road on February 28—he remains in jail on additional charges.  WJHG
  • Lynn Haven Police Department warned residents about an email scam sending fake invoices from a fraudulent City of Lynn Haven email address—officials are investigating and advise recipients to disregard these messages.  My Panhandle
  • The Panama City Police Department asked for help finding 34-year-old Daniel Hunt, who was last seen near West 15th Street and Frankford Avenue at 5 a.m. on Wednesday wearing an orange shirt, black shorts with a stripe, and black shoes, and who is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 325 pounds—people with information should call the PCPD at 850-872-3100 or Crime Stoppers at 850-785-TIPS.  My Panhandle

  • The National Weather Service warns Bay County will face near-record heat starting July 27 as temperatures near the upper 90s to triple digits and heat indices will hit 110—115; residents will see nighttime lows remain in the 80s until rain brings relief by July 30.  Panama City News Herald
