- ➤ Panama City man Wesley Hickingbottom was arrested Thursday after he allegedly shot his cousin during a card game argument in the 1300 block of Gray Ave in Cedar Grove—the victim drove himself to a hospital and Hickingbottom now faces charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. - ➤ A man wanted for Mississippi parole violations was arrested in Panama City after deputies responded on July 23 to a shooting in Cedar Grove that injured one person and left a vehicle with six bullet impacts+ he now faces charges including aggravated assault and weapons offenses while the victim is expected to survive. - ➤ FDOT said drivers will face intermittent lane closures and resurfacing work on U.S. 98, S.R. 71, U.S. 90, S.R. 77 and I-10 from Sunday, July 27 through early August in Bay, Jackson, Holmes and Washington counties. Motorists should heed advanced warning signs and reduced speed limits—speeding fines double when workers are present—while planning their trips. WJHG

- ➤ The Florida Department of Health reported 13 cases of Vibrio vulnificus and four deaths this year—with new cases in Bay and Okaloosa counties—as of July 24.
