- ➤ Panama City officials said the Tarpon Dock Drawbridge on E Beach Drive is closed to vehicle traffic due to heat expansion causing improper closure after a boat passage — the fire department is spraying water to cool the metal while drivers are urged to take 4th or 6th Street for their commute. - ➤ Governor Ron DeSantis visited Boon Docks restaurant in Panama City Beach on Monday morning where he promoted a new law that permanently makes a back-to-school sales tax holiday from August 1-31 and allows parents to buy school supplies, clothing, footwear, learning aids and tech items tax-free if they meet price limits—such as supplies for $50 or less, clothes under $100, learning aids under $30 and tech items under $1,500.
