- ➤ USA Today has named Tom P. Haney Technical College among the top vocational schools in America— the school offers hands-on training in automotive technology, aviation mechanics, healthcare and HVAC. - ➤ Eight opioid manufacturers are nearing settlement in a lawsuit as the Bay County Commission gave their attorney Tuesday authority to negotiate the payout, and officials said some funds may go to help recovery treatment at the local jail (using funds from past recovery programs). WJHG

- ➤ Health officials warned that Vibrio vulnificus — a bacteria that can cause dangerous infections — has led to 13 cases and 4 deaths in Florida as summer heat drives locals to the Gulf Coast.
