- ➤ Six-year-old Esmé Church shone at a Panama City dance studio where her mom, Alissa Mcandrew, trained her from baby classes to a national competition in which Esmé earned seventh place out of about 90 dancers; she wore a sparkly crab costume that marked a proud milestone in her dance journey — built on family support and years of practice. - ➤ Florida's CFO Blaise Ingoglia announced that more than $44 million in unclaimed property was returned to residents in July, with Panama City receiving $571,239. His office worked to reunite forgotten accounts, insurance proceeds, and deposits with their rightful owners & support families, small businesses, and taxpayers. My Panhandle
- ➤ Bay County Supervisor of Elections Nina Ward said the recall petition against Mayor Jesse Nelson failed to meet Florida law because only 226 valid signatures were collected out of the 1,535 required. She explained the error came from using a July 4 start date even though the first valid signature was dated June 7 — setting the 30-day period to end on July 7. My Panhandle
- ➤ On August 5, the Panama City Commission held an online workshop to review affordable housing programs and youth support efforts run by the Housing and Community Services Department.
