  • The Krewe of Saint Andrews will host a Halloween Costume Party and Drawdown Raffle on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1561 Chandlee Avenue in Panama City. Tickets cost $10 using Venmo or cash + the event will offer music, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar + a $1,000 raffle prize.  My Panhandle

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Three house fires have struck Bay County recently—an electrical fire on Aug. 31 destroyed GOP chairman Tho Bishop’s home and claimed two pets, another blaze at the Riverside subdivision left Ian and Catherine Bland staying in a hotel, and a fire on Ethlyn Road in Parker caused mainly exterior damage with the family evacuating safely.  Panama City News Herald

  • The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced Tuesday that the 2025-26 Florida Fish Art Contest is open for submissions for kids in grades K-12; the contest asks entries to include a handmade art piece and a one-page creative writing piece on a native fish, with submissions closing Feb.-28th.  My Panhandle

  • On Sept. 4th, Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City introduced a new Pulsed Field Ablation system using Boston Scientific’s FARAVIEW module to treat atrial fibrillation—technology that reduces surgical times and lowers risks of damaging nearby tissue.  Panama City News Herald

  • The Florida High School Athletic Association released its first high school volleyball rankings, showing Mosley as the top local team at 25th in the state and fourth in Class 5A—North Bay Haven, Bay High, Bozeman, Arnold, and Rutherford are also ranked based on game results and strength of schedule.  Panama City News Herald
