- ➤ Students at FSU Panama City were shocked by the news that political activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at an event at Utah Valley University, and campus police said they have increased security measures—adding weapon detection systems, license plate readers and a security dog—to keep the campus safe. - ➤ Bay County will begin its Concerts in the Park series on October 4 — the events will feature performances at three county parks throughout October. WJHG
- ➤ Panama City Beach Oktoberfest will take place at Aaron Bessant Park in Pier Park starting October 3rd and run for three days. The event features a 150' x 50' tent styled like Munich's authentic tent and offers German beer, brats, other food, music and activities for families—bringing a taste of traditional German culture to the area. - ➤ Bay District Schools are warning families about road safety after two students were hit by vehicles, including a Rutherford Middle School student struck by a semi-truck while crossing a main road, and both drivers stopped immediately without causing serious injuries — officials advise using sidewalks, crosswalks, and bright clothing to help keep students safe.
