- ➤ Lynsey Beasley from Helping Hearts of Florida said the organization will hold a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Event with a Teddy Bear Drive at Papa Joe’s Bayside on Saturday, October 4—families can support grieving parents by donating teddy bears. WJHG
- ➤ Panama City Beach Parks and Recreation will host its Paws in the Park event on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Frank Brown Park—pet-friendly businesses will sponsor activities including dog contests, pet vendors, pup cups, K9 demonstrations, a doggie dash, an adoption booth, giveaways, and a cops and kids truck as owners must leash their dogs with a limit of three per family. - ➤ The Central Panhandle Fair returns to Bay County from Tuesday through Saturday; today, gates open at (6 p.m. CST) for ($25) entry. The 80-year tradition features agricultural exhibits, crafts and contests with cash-only gate sales. My Panhandle

- ➤ Cuban Bodega is a family-owned Hispanic grocery store in Bay County that brings authentic Latin flavor to Panama City by importing products from Miami and making fresh Cuban sandwiches and pastries. Owner Idania Garcia started the store nine months ago with family support—her business has quickly become a welcome addition for local Hispanics. WJHG

- ➤ On Oct. 4, local author Latresha Davidson Woods will hold a book signing at the Glenwood Community Center from 2—4 p.m. The event is organized by the Panama City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and celebrates her 'Chocolate Children' series aimed at inspiring young Black readers. - ➤ Florida’s average regular unleaded gas price dropped 13 cents in the past week to $2.97 per gallon as refineries shifted to cheaper winter-blend gasoline, according to the AAA auto club—helping ease fuel costs amid easing consumer price pressures. My Panhandle
- ➤ Florida’s minimum wage increased Tuesday to $14 per hour and the tipped wage grew to $10.98 following a voter-approved plan from 2020. The base wage will rise by $1 each Sept. 30 until it hits $15—then it will be adjusted for inflation. My Panhandle

- ➤ Bay District Schools released a statement Tuesday saying it is changing its rules for new clubs after state officials warned that legal action would occur if TPUSA clubs are blocked — Superintendent McQueen will soon share his recommendations with the School Board. WJHG

- ➤ Ascension Sacred Heart Bay has welcomed oncologist Dr. Andrew Weber and nurse practitioner Callie Heilig who begin seeing patients today as Breast Cancer Awareness Month highlights local care.
