- ➤ The Panama City Beach Senior Center is launching its fall season with several events including an outdoor flea market sale on October 18th at 9 a.m. at 423 Lyndell Lane — a casino bus trip on November 10th to Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, a winter craft fair on November 15th at the Lyndell Conference Center, and a community health fair on November 19th offering free flu shots. - ➤ St. Andrews Soccer Club will host its annual Community Day at Oak Grove Park on November 8—soccer sessions start at 8 a.m. and festival fun with bounce houses, food, music and activities kicks off at noon. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Bay County is hosting its free Concert Series in the Park at Simmons Park—featuring live local music that offers a family friendly atmosphere for the community. WJHG
- ➤ Symphony patrons can join Moments with the Maestro today from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Panama City Center for the Arts to learn about the music for the show. The Panama City Symphony will perform Nightmare By the Bay tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at the Barbara W. Nelson Fine Arts Center at Bay High School. My Panhandle
- ➤ Mexico Beach will host the 2nd Annual Halloween Mutt Strut Dog Parade and Costume Contest on October 25th from 4 pm to 5:30 pm CST at Under the Palms Park on 7th Street. Registration will close at 4:30 pm—attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for St. Joseph Bay Humane Society and must keep dogs on a leash. Bay County Coastal
- ➤ Local libraries in Panama City and Bay County are offering a series of free fall programs, including craft camps, murder mystery events, pumpkin decorating contests and story walks starting in October and continuing into November. - ➤ On Thursday, North Bay Haven Charter Academy hosted its first aerial drone competition where middle and high school teams from 15 schools flew drones through obstacle courses—each student gaining hands-on experience in aviation. Organizers said they will hold the event again to help spark interest in coding, piloting, and aerospace careers. My Panhandle
- ➤ Gulf Coast State nursing students get hands-on training at their Panama City simulation lab using a lifelike patient simulator—Megan Upfold at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay explains how the simulator prepares them for real patient care. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport will add an 80,000-square-foot facility that brings three new gates, six baggage offices, a vertical transportation corridor, and four baggage claim carousels. The expansion will also modify West Bay Parkway, Terminal Loop Road, and the rental car return entrance so travellers in mid-October will need extra time—reflecting plans to handle growing traffic. - ➤ Panama City will host the commissioning of the USS Pierre LCS 38 on Nov. 15 at the Port of Panama City — the Navy’s final Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship built by Austal USA. The ship will be in the area the week before the event, registration for the ceremony will open mid-October, and after commissioning it will travel to its homeport in San Diego. My Panhandle

- ➤ The Florida Department of Health in Bay County issued a notice for red tide in Mexico Beach yesterday—warning residents to avoid swimming and harvesting shellfish because the toxin can cause skin irritation and respiratory problems. Residents are advised to keep pets and livestock away from the water and report any related health issues. My Panhandle
- ➤ A 30-minute breast cancer awareness special will air Friday, October 17 at 11 a.m. on WJHG-NBC livestream—where survivors Donna Bell and Jessica Foster share their personal stories and expert advice to promote early detection. WJHG
