COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The 2nd Annual Panama City Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida kicks off today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the FSU Holley Academic Center. Funds will support research for Spina Bifida and Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and add a wheelchair-accessible swing for Oakland Terrace Playground — the fundraiser is hosted by FSU Panama City, Cure CMD, United Way of Northwest Florida and the Spina Bifida Association — while the event offers a silent auction, walk, music, pumpkin decorating, crafts, face painting, food vendors and a photo with FSU cheerleaders. - ➤ The St. Andrews Soccer Club has asked the city for exclusive rights to use the Oak Grove field for 10 years in exchange for repairing the park and improving safety at Robert and Mary Cain Park. Some residents object and a community meeting will be held before the city decides (the club has already spent thousands on upgrades). WJHG
- ➤ Bay County's Annual Fall Festival at Harder's Park will include live music, a maze, a pumpkin patch, face painting, inflatables and a costume contest—details confirmed by organizers. WJHG

- ➤ Museum Views II is a free art show now live at Gulf Coast State College’s Amelia Center Gallery — the exhibit features over a dozen paintings on display for three weeks and is open to visitors on weekdays. WJHG
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Avicenna Clinic in Panama City offered free health screenings and medical equipment Friday (to help uninsured and underinsured residents) and screened for diabetes, HIV, and hepatitis-C. The clinic aimed to remove cost barriers and improve care (focusing on community health access). My Panhandle
- ➤ Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast has teamed up with Florida Department of Health to launch the Telehealth Maternity Care Program that connects mothers and babies with a patient navigator for resources like baby supplies, transportation, and mental health care across Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties—FDOH will allocate $3 million statewide to support the program.
