- ➤ The Panama City News Herald is polling residents on which former Bay County attraction they miss most from Oct. 19-24, with choices including Panama City Mall, Miracle Strip Amusement Park, Gulf World Marine Park, and Club La Vela. - ➤ Panama City Comedy is hosting two clean-comedy fundraisers that will support local youth programs. Today at House of Henry the event will benefit Girls Inc. of Bay County with comedian Jenn Weeks and opener Jason Hedden + on October 30 the event at Capt. Anderson’s Event Center will support Arnold High School boys soccer team with performances by Jason Hedden, Malcolm Xavier and Gale MzUndastood along with a silent auction and costume contest. - ➤ Starting Sunday, October 26, a nonstop flight from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to NYC LaGuardia will run daily, replacing the Saturday-only service that began in June. Airport officials said—this route will boost business and leisure travel between Panama City and New York City. WJHG

- ➤ Thunder Beach is underway on Panama City Beach today as custom bikes and lively music mark the 25th fall edition of the motorcycle rally. The event runs through Sunday at the Harley Davidson and Frank Brown Park venues — local riders and bands call it a bucket list experience. My Panhandle
- ➤ This morning, NewsChannel 7 Today held a pumpkin carving contest in Panama City—Mia, Emmeline, and Trey competed while sharing carving tips and viewers can vote for their favorite pumpkin. The event highlights a friendly local celebration. WJHG
- ➤ Bay Arts Alliance and the Panama City Center for the Arts will host a Haunted Walking Tour — with scare actors in historic costumes — in downtown from Friday October 24 to Saturday October 25 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The one-hour tour, open to those 16 and older, follows a three-year hiatus and is part of ongoing fall events. - ➤ Three high schools in Walton County (South Walton, Freeport, Walton High School) have been ranked among the top 20% nationwide by U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings, receiving an A+ for academic excellence. The principals said the recognition shows their focus on preparing students for college and careers. WJHG

- ➤ Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to strengthen into a hurricane today as a jet stream helps push it north, and forecasters believe it will likely pass east of Florida. Experts advise residents to stay alert for updates—if the storm shifts west near Cuba its path may change next week. Panama City News Herald

- ➤ Workers have begun moving dirt along Hall Road—near the airport entrance—to bring in heavy equipment for an 80,000 square-foot North Terminal expansion.
