  • The witches rode their broomsticks during their 9th annual charity ride Saturday morning in St. Andrews to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research and awareness. More than 250 riders joined the event and raised over $70,000 — split with 49% for research and 51% to support patients.  My Panhandle

BUSINESS NEWS

  • La Pera’s Sweet Shop opened Saturday on Ohio Ave in Lynn Haven, serving bagels imported directly from New York along with ice cream and soft serve. The owners, who also run La Pera’s General Construction, say the bagels—shipped fresh in a freezer truck and baked daily—offer an authentic Big Apple taste to the Panhandle.  My Panhandle

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, residents dropped off expired prescription drugs at HCA Florida Gulf Coast State Hospital during the annual Crush the Crisis event, where 55 pounds of medications were collected. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office oversaw proper disposal — keeping drugs out of misuse — and residents can also drop off medications at the Sheriff’s Office.  My Panhandle
