- ➤ Beach Care Services will host its annual Dinner at the Beach event at Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant (November 20th) after a delay merged it with Sharky’s Bay Open. Customers who reserved tables for the original date will be refunded (all proceeds benefit Beach Care Services). WJHG
- ➤ Whiskeys Saloon will host a veteran’s tribute and fundraiser this Sunday at 11 a.m.—the event in Panama City Beach will feature food trucks, music from 24 bands and 2 DJs over 11 hours, with some proceeds going to Warrior Beach Retreat. WJHG
- ➤ On Nov. 6, Backpack Blessings volunteers packed 298 meal bags at the Hospitality Depot in Panama City Beach to support students during a government shutdown and a 35% cut in SNAP benefits—an effort that helps fight rising food insecurity. - ➤ The Head Start program at Early Education and Care Inc. in Panama City, which serves over 360 children across ten centers, may close when federal funding remains low amid a shutdown—staff and families already feel the pinch from reduced class sizes and stagnant budgets. My Panhandle
- ➤ Bay District Schools announced the closure of the Bay Educators Wellness Center beginning Jan. 1 after it failed to meet cost-effectiveness targets, as about 300 patients used the facility monthly.
