  • Gulf Coast State College’s Commodore Cupboard, started after Hurricane Michael in 2018, now gives free groceries, toiletries, cleaning items, and school supplies to students, staff, and local residents experiencing financial hardship—Coordinator Joshua Brunson noted that it now focuses on balanced, grab-and-go meals. The pantry operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Student Union East.  WKGC Public Radio
  • The Rivercamps community held a groundbreaking ceremony for rebuilding key amenities two years after an arson fire destroyed several buildings. The new gym and clubhouse, funded by insurance and neighborhood funds, will be complete by summertime next year—helping the community move forward.  WJHG
  • The Springfield Police Department hosted a pickleball tournament to raise funds for Investigator Gabriel May and Officer Jazmin Ortiz's son Ammo—diagnosed with neuroblastoma in September. Sixteen teams competed at Papa Joe's Pickleball Courts and the department's GoFundMe raised over $22,000 while the family traveled monthly to Jacksonville for treatment.  My Panhandle

  • Phillip Brashear shared his father Carl’s heroic journey—overcoming racism, poverty, and disability to become the first African American Master Diver in the Navy—during a special screening of Men of Honor at the Grand Pier Park movie theater.
