- ➤ Today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Panama City Beach Police Department hosts its 31st annual Cops N Kids event at Aaron Bessant Park where residents can enjoy kids games, view police vehicles—see K-9 demonstrations and enter raffles for two bikes every 30 minutes. My Panhandle
- ➤ The Jackson County Farm City Celebration kicked off yesterday to honor farmers who feed most county residents during a severe drought. The event features a Youth Livestock Show, tractor parade, and pecan festival and will wrap up Tuesday with a banquet recognizing the 52nd year of the celebration. WJHG
- ➤ Little Village Conch Festival returns for its fourth year today in St. Andrews—featuring conch shell lessons, contests, live music, arts and crafts, and special conch-themed eats from Finns. My Panhandle

- ➤ Eastern Shipbuilding Group suspended its Offshore Patrol Cutter program today because of financial strain from the project’s structure — it also cut workers to remain financially stable while continuing to build American vessels for government and commercial clients. My Panhandle
- ➤ Dutch Bros Coffee is finishing construction on a drive-thru at Highway 77 near 23rd Street in Panama City where the old Burger King once stood. Construction began three months ago+ the chain will mark its second panhandle location and plans to open by the end of the year. My Panhandle

- ➤ Nominations are open for the 'Remarkable Women' contest, inviting Panhandle residents to nominate women who lead and inspire. The contest—organized by Nexstar Media Group for Women’s History Month—will honor five women in March and the winner will represent the area in a national contest in Nashville, with essays accepted until December 19th. - ➤ Florida Lottery reported that the Mega Millions jackpot reached $980 million for Friday, Nov. 14 drawing and if no winning ticket emerged it will roll over to mark the 14th time a jackpot has hit $1 billion. - ➤ Grace Owens was named this week’s Golden Apple Award winner—an honor for excellence in teaching—and the award highlights her significant contributions to education. WJHG
- ➤ IAG Aero Group donated $5 million to Tom P. Haney Technical College’s Aviation Academy to give students hands-on training with a GE turbofan jet engine and other equipment. The donation comes as IAG Aero Group expands into Bay County which will bring over 500 new jobs to the region. WJHG
- ➤ Local parent David Kipp said Bay District Schools did not protect his daughter from ongoing bullying after her reports of unkind remarks and social exclusion were ignored, and she ended up striking an alleged bully on Sept. 17, which led to her suspension and teen court appearance; the district said it reviewed the case and takes student safety seriously—despite not notifying him as required by policy. - ➤ Panama City Beach’s Beach Safety team reflected on the busy 2025 season that saw 22 rescues and only two drownings after growing its full-time lifeguards from 5 to 20.
