- ➤ News 13 and All In Credit Union went to Walmart earlier this week to pick out toys for the Magical Christmas Toy Drive—donations of unwrapped toys for children at the Boys & Girls Club of Bay County can be dropped off by Dec. 11. My Panhandle
- ➤ The Historical Society of Bay County will host a presentation on iconic family-owned restaurants with speakers Nick Patronis from Capt. Anderson’s, George Butchikas from Angelo’s Steak Pit and Theresa Willis from 4 Winds. The event will be held Monday, November 24th at 6:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast State College in the Student Union East on the 2nd floor. WJHG
- ➤ A pirate ship from Pirates of the Caribbean now serves as an artificial reef in the Gulf while a parent reports bullying issues at Bay District Schools and red tide washes dead fish ashore at Port St. Joe—furthermore, a house fire on E. 2nd Street left one person dead and Ascension Sacred Heart Bay is using new lung cancer detection technology. - ➤ Jamrock Charity sent three crates of donated products to West Jamaica + the nonprofit will fly to Jamaica in December to assist with recovery efforts. WJHG
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Tommy Smith Elementary School experienced a Touch-a-Truck event as a reward for good behavior — community partners like Florida Power and Light, Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol and the fire department joined to help the kids learn about different community jobs. - ➤ Bay District Schools' first narcotics detection dog Odessa placed in the top 10 among K9s from larger departments in a competition in Titusville—she regularly visits two district schools to check for drugs and firearms—showing her value in keeping the campus safe. WJHG
