- ➤ Skip Bondur is living atop a bus until Bay County residents donate 10,000 toys for local children; the toy drive launched with 500 toys on its first day and donors can drop off gifts (at the Walmart parking lot on 23rd Street) as the campaign runs for 10 days. WJHG
- ➤ Ira Hutchison Park now has a new playground and restroom building, with boat ramp and seawall upgrades planned for later this year; families can enjoy the updated park starting tomorrow. WJHG

- ➤ Panama City held its annual Christmas Parade Monday after weather delays postponed the celebration, drawing community members downtown to enjoy festive displays and a milestone marking the season. WJHG
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bayway Transit (county’s only transit provider) reported a 6% increase in 2025 with over 510,000 trips driven by enhancements like Bayway Flex that boosted micro-transit rides 304% and expanded Demand Response and student partnerships; the service will continue improving for Bay County in 2026. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ DOH-Bay issued a red tide health alert for East, West, and North Bay after water samples taken on Dec. 3 detected red tide — the department advises residents to exercise caution around affected waters. WJHG
- ➤ Yesterday, Ascension Sacred Heart Bay recognized over 30 medical professionals for their quick stroke response, highlighting its new neurothrombectomy program (which removes blood clots) that helped save lives. The award reflects the hospital’s ongoing efforts to improve emergency care. WJHG
- ➤ Two Bay restaurants in Panama City received severe health inspection violations identified during Dec. 3 routine inspections. Copper Tap Grille had six violations including issues with dish sanitizer and food temperature controls, while El Weirdo received two violations prompting follow up inspections by regulators. - ➤ Panama City health experts are now offering PET CT imaging as a noninvasive way to check for heart disease. The technology is expected to improve early detection & guide safer treatment choices. WJHG
