  • Harder's Park will host a Christmas event featuring food trucks, photos with Santa, and free face painting for local families. The festive celebration will bring holiday cheer to the community.  WJHG
  • Academy Sports gave a holiday shopping spree to local Boys and Girls Club kids on Friday, Dec. 12, helping them choose gifts and make their wish lists come true. The event brought extra cheer to the community.  WJHG
  • The city launched its 12 Days of Christmas Safety Tips campaign to help residents celebrate a safe holiday using daily videos by the fire department & police department on Facebook & Instagram, advising on everything from tree and toy safety to home precautions and traffic awareness.  City of Panama City

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Bay County Public Library (Local History Department) is showcasing rare photos of Redfish Point, an abandoned community founded by two free Black men in the 1800s and vacated in 1941 for Tyndall Air Force Base.  Panama City News Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gulf Coast State College held a pinning ceremony on Dec. 11 in Panama City to honor 47 new nurses; families and faculty attended as the graduates were recognized for their dedication to care.  Panama City News Herald

  • Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast hospital was named a high performing hospital by U.S. News & World Report for exceptional maternity care. The recognition came after a national review and spotlights the facility’s commitment to quality.  WJHG
