- ➤ Military funding from the Big Beautiful Bill is set to pay the Warrior Dividend which could boost Bay County's economy as it channels new spending into local projects. Local officials expect the initiative to support job growth and economic development. WJHG
- ➤ The National Retail Federation says holiday spending is set to top $1 trillion as local shoppers plan to spend about $890 on gifts amid tighter budgets. Downtown St. Andrews mom-and-pop shops report lower foot traffic due to increased online competition. WJHG

- ➤ Deputy Jake Navarro of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office urged residents to boost holiday home safety by using timer lights, limiting social media updates, and breaking down boxes, while advising travelers to use the holiday home-check service and drivers to choose a designated driver as DUI squads patrol the roads. - ➤ Four Bay restaurants received high-priority health violations during inspections held Dec. 15 to Dec. 21. Harrison's Kitchen & Bar, Outback Steakhouse, St. Andrews Slice House, and Subway showed issues with sanitizer strength, leaking sinks, or insect presence, and follow-up inspections are planned.
