A 27-year-old man was critically injured early Tuesday at 2:43 a.m. when he was hit by a fleeing vehicle on Allison Avenue near Island Reserve Condominiums—troopers are investigating and urging anyone with information to come forward while he remains at a local hospital in critical condition.

On Tuesday, Premier Estates residents on Wood Valley Road, Fox Ridge Road, Cottontail Lane, Foxmoor Lane, and Marin Drive were placed under a precautionary boil water notice due to emergency water main work that caused a loss of water pressure.

The notice will remain until repairs are complete and a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe — residents may see discolored water for about 24 hours after restoration.

Panama City officials announced that Gulf Coast Utility Contractors will temporarily close the road at the Luverne Ave and Beach Dr intersection today through July 11 to complete underground utility work.

Traffic will be redirected through a nearby parking lot and flaggers will safely direct vehicles.
